Jan Jusino (b. 1995) is a Puerto Rican multidisciplinary artist based in Houston, Texas. Jan’s practice is deeply rooted in a dialogue with art history, drawing formal inspiration from the structural rigor of the De Stijl and Renaissance movements, as well as the emotive landscapes of Surrealism and Expressionism. His work explores the existential tension between organic nature, historic figures and structured architecture. At the core of Jan’s exploration is a pursuit of what he defines as "meaningful vividness": the extraction of intense chromatic values through the minimal shaping of context. By distilling complex environments into their most essential forms, he invites viewers into a world of quiet precision.
